Smooth, rich, and beautifully layered, this cup delivers both elegance and intensity—everything you want from a premium Ethiopian natural.

If you love complex fruit, floral sweetness, and a vibrant, juicy finish, this coffee will absolutely shine.

The Story

Some coffees are good. Some are memorable. And a few—like this Duwancho Special Prep—stop you in your tracks.

From the first sip at the cupping table, we knew this lot was exceptional. Its mix of ripe fruit depth, floral fragrance, and smooth chocolate sweetness immediately set it apart. Produced at the Duwancho washing station in Sidama, this Grade 1 special-prep natural showcases the incredible care taken at every stage of processing.

What Makes This “Special Prep”

At Duwancho, cherries undergo a unique two-hour soak before drying—an extra step believed to intensify sweetness and enhance clarity.

Drying takes up to 30 days, with cherries spread thin on raised beds and turned frequently for slow, even development.

Only a small number of bags are produced each year, harvested from select smallholders with exceptionally ripe cherry.

Premium, rare, and beautifully crafted from start to finish.

Brewing Recommendations

  • Pour-Over & Drip: highlights black currant sweetness, florals, and layered complexity
  • Single Origin Espresso: bold, fruity shots with rich chocolate depth (rest 7–10 days)

Roast Level: Light–Medium (preserving fruit clarity and sweetness)
