Why You’ll Love It

Bright, sweet, and full of character — this Regional Select lot from La Unión, Nariño showcases everything people love about southern Colombian coffee. Expect smooth toffee sweetness, gentle cooked citrus, rich cocoa depth, and a soft stone-fruit brightness that lifts the entire cup. Clean, balanced, and naturally sweet, it’s an approachable everyday coffee that shines across all brew methods without overwhelming acidity.

The Story

The Regional Select program highlights coffees that express the true “taste of place” from Colombia’s most distinct microclimates. Nariño — the country’s southernmost department — is famous for extreme elevations, volcanic soil, and cool night temperatures that slow cherry maturation, building exceptional sweetness and clarity.

Producers here grow traditional Colombian varieties on steep mountainsides between 1,500–2,200 masl, where warm daytime air rises into the highlands at night, allowing coffee to thrive at elevations rarely seen anywhere else in the world. The result is bright, expressive coffees with sweetness, structure, and depth. This lot cups between 84–87 points, selected for balance, sweetness, and classic Nariño character.

Brewing Recommendations

  • Pour-over & Drip: showcases gentle citrus brightness, clean sweetness, and a smooth stone-fruit lift
  • French Press: amplifies cocoa depth and round toffee sweetness
  • Espresso: produces lively, sweet shots with a soft fruit pop and a rich cocoa finish

Roast Level: Medium-Dark — balanced sweetness, refined acidity, and a clean finish.
